Yes, i would have asked the warden to make me pretty so that i could test the cure, then if it worked, they could use it on other pretties so they can remember stuff in their past.

Post 51

No, I don't think Tally will regret coming clean. I do think that David will be mad at her.

Post 50

I don't think that Maddy should have made Shay take the cure because you can't force someone to experiment something like the cure.

Post 49

If I was Shay, I would get the cure so that i could remember what happened in my past.

Post 48

My response to the quote is that how the doctors put lesions in the brains of the people is wrong. The whole point of the operation is pointless. I mean you are pretty for you, not what someone makes you.

Post 47

Tally and David go to rescue the Smokies.

Tally starts to break them out.

Dr. Cable comes.

David knocks Dr. Cable out.

The rescued Smokies go to the cave and David and his mom go to the Rusty Ruins.

Post 46

The selected passage is a deeper meaning to the story.

Shay is beautiful. "It was Shay. She was Pretty." The speacials had turned Shay into a pretty, also controling her brain with lesions.

Self preservation is protecting oyurself, it is important but it is not everything.

POst 36

I think Tally is on the Smoke side now, she has been with them, and seen how the town is, and when she did that, she realized that they are good people and didn't want to betray them after they trusted her by bringing her into their town.

POst 35

I don't think that this is the climax. Special Circumstances is probably on their way so there is a 50% chance of her getting away.

Pretty is what everyone wants to be.

Post 32

They are talking about how they think that parents shouldn't look like their kids.

Post 31

Yes because David's Parents have seen Pretties and they might think less of Tally becaus she is an Ugly.

Post 30

No i haven't recieved a gift that made others jealous.

Post 30

Yes because David gave Tally a present.

Post 29

Because if Tally waited, she wouldn't want Special Circumstances to ruin the Smoke because David and Shay trusted her.

Post 28

Because they didn't like the operation.

"They reversed the operation?"

"Yes."

Post 27

What is so pretty about it in Tally's eyes is that she can see how far her journey has taken her.

No there is nothing ugly about it.

Post 26

I think Shay's dicription of a model is probably right. Most models are anerixic so they can look "good". They have gotten that we don't tun "Pretty" like they do. They have also gotten right about we cut down trees and use them for energy. But one thing they haven't gotten right is that we arn't called the Rusties.

Post 25

I choose this picture because the book said there were fires everywhere.

http://ezinearticles.com/?History-of-Whitewater-Rafting&id=276992

It is interesting to note that whitewater rafting was one of the earliest forms of transportation. It was not only used for carrying people but also for transferring goods from one place to another. However, it became quite popular as a form of leisure activity in the 1980s.

In 1811, the first recorded attempt to navigate the Snake River in Wyoming was planned by the Overland Astorians. While attempting to boat the stretch below Jackson Hole, the river was found to be too treacherous and it came to be called ?Mad River.?

The rubber river raft is believed to have been invented in the early 1840s. It was first made by Lt. John Fremont, who was then serving in the U.S army and Horace H. Day. They invented the rubber raft with the intention of surveying the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains. Although the raft was invented in the mid-nineteenth century, it was not until the turn of the century that the first ever commercial whitewater trip was undertaken. At first, surplus military rafts were used as boats and it was only much later that inflatable rafts were used.

Private companies played a major role in augmenting the rafting business. In 1956, one of the members of the most affluent business families of America, John D. Rockefeller built a resort that introduced one of the first floating trips in the country. However, it only evoked a lukewarm response. Later, in the 1960s and 1970s, exclusive whitewater rafting companies were formed. These include the Becker-Cooke Expeditions, Hatch River Expeditions and Slickrock Adventures.

Rafting was first included in the Munich Olympic Games, 1972. Subsequently, it was included in the 1992 Barcelona Games and the 1996 Atlanta Games. In 1996, the Ocoee River in Tennessee Valley played host to the whitewater events of the Summer Olympic Games.

Peer Pressure- when someone makes you feel bad when you don't want to do something.

One time when someone tried to peer pressure me was last year when i didn't want to go Ding Dong Ditching and they kept pressuring me. But it didn't work. (:

Post 8

The first quote makes me think that Tally is not having fun with the game. It makes them feel uglie when they look at the before and after pictures.

The 2nd Quote makes me think that they are talking about when there were only Uglies, no Pretties.

The 3rd quote makes me think that they are discussing how everyone is equal when they are Pretties.

Post 7

The only other book/ movie i can think of is Treasure Island.

I think that the New Pretties dont go back to Uglyville because they only want to hang out with the other Pretties.

Their physical appearence is: flawless, perfect hair, skin, and teeth.

Tally Jumps off Garbo Mansion and flees to the gardens. There she meets an Uglie named Shay. Together, they talk about how they spy on their friends that are now Pretties. Then, Shay and Tally go to the bridge to cross back.

I have learned that Shay is a Uglie. Yes, she is like Tally. I think that Tally and Shay will become Pretties and become friends with Peris.

I think that New Pretty Town advocates Bungee-jumping because it is not perfect.

History of bungee jumping:
Bungee has quite an old origin. The idea of this way of jumping comes from the ancient ritual "Gkol" performed in the Pentecost Island in the Pacific Archipelago of Vanuatu. The legend says that in the village Bunlap a man called Tamalie had a quarrel with his wife and she ran away and climbed a Banyan tree where she wrapped her ankles with liana vines. When Tamalie came up to her, the woman jumped from the tree and so did her husband not knowing what had his wife done. So he died but the woman survived. The men of Bunlap were very impressed by this performance and they began to practise such jumps in case they got in similar situation. This practice transformed into a ritual for rich yam harvest and also for proving manhood.Modern bungee jumping as we know it today actually started on the 1st of April ( Fools' Day ) 1979 when group of people from the Oxford University Dangerous Sport Club, impressed by a film about "vine jumpers", jumped from 245-Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England. Using nylon braided, rubber shock cord instead of vines, and dressed in their customary top hat and tails, they performed a four man simultaneous jump .The enthysiasts promptly were arrested for this. But at least hit the world press the next day. The new adrenaline mania has been started. The D.S.C. performed many other jumps, including one off the Golden Gate Bridge. In early 1988, A.J. Hackett and Chris Allum, opened the first commercial jump site in Ohakune, New Zealand. Hackett also made a great commercial show in 1987 when he jumped from the Eiffel Tower in Paris.. As part of the site publicity, Hackett performed an astounding bungee jump from the Eiffel Tower! Nowadays there have already been a lot of towers, cranes, bridges and even hot-air balloons serving as platforms for jumping and bungee is the simplest and easily understood of the aerial extreme sports. This site informs you about some of the aerial extreme sports

Tally- an Uglie, Brown eyes, about 15 years old.

Peris- a Pretty, "Big, Sweet Eyes", about 16 Years old, handsome

I fell that Peris and Tally will be friends forever. I think they are best friends, but Peris is older and probably doesnt think she is very mature.

Blog 3

"But nothing had been beautiful since Peris turned pretty."

I think she wore it so when she went to New Pretty Town she wouldnt get noticed and nobody would know she is a Ugly.

History of Masks:
A form of disguise. It is an object that is frequently worn over or in front of the face to hide the identity of a person and by its own features to establish another being. This essential characteristic of hiding and revealing personalities or moods is common to all masks. As cultural objects they have been used throughout the world in all periods since the Stone Age and have been as varied in appearance as in their use and symbolism.
